Mel’s Scribbles

Here is one I found in a box of stuff of Mels. There is no date on it but I am sure if we got it carbon dated, it would come back somewhere near the middle ages of teen angst.

If only one wish were mine,
Throughout my life on earth.
I’d wish for peace and happiness,
And to lift the evil curse.

The evil curse in, this day and age,
has brought to many, strife.
Because in fact, even if it we resent,
The evil curse… is life.

What else has brought so much sorrow,
So much sadness to each of us.
And when feeling down and out,
Who do we blame? Life, not us.

When people die as they always will,
We don’t rejoice in death.
But break down in tears of sadness,
And think how little is left.

If only one wish were mine,
I’d like for people to see.
That life is here for living,
Not spent in misery.
